SZA Responds to the Possibility of Releasing Joint Album With Kendrick Lamar

Ahead of SZA and Kendrick Lamar's co-headlining tour, the artist is letting fans know her thoughts on a potential collaborative album.

The duo are slated to go on the Grand National Tour together this year beginning in April. The artists have worked with one another as features on each others' songs and after stopping by on the Sherri show, SZA revealed if a joint album would be possible in the future. When asked, SZA replies, "I would love that. I would love that! I think that would be amazing. He's such a genius." She continued, "And part of his genius is him being so elusive and so mysterious, and I love it. I don't know what's going on as much as you don't know what's going on."

In another part of the interview, SZA spoke about their creative process behind their GNX collaborative tracks "Gloria" and "Luther." She shared, "When 'Luther' came on, I said, 'Okay that's the vocals we're using, period,' and same with 'Gloria,' I said, 'Okay and I love that.'" She added, "He's a huge part of my fumble and finding era because I'm just trusting all of his expertise and being thrust into these moments and spotlight and saying yes, and he’s so good at saying yes but staying grounded, so I'm just like, 'Teach me, sensei, what you know.'"

SZA and Kendrick Lamar's Grand National Tour begins on April 19 in Minneapolis before ending on June 18 in Washington.
