DIGAWEL SS25 "officeware" Reflects on Work and Life in Flux

For SS25, Japanese label DIGAWEL returns to its "officeware" concept, which began in 2018 as an inquiry into the modern balance between work and life through design.

As working styles like WFH (work from home) and gig work have become more widespread, the work-life balance has become evermore malleable, and so have wardrobes. DIGAWEL embraces this shift in its latest collection, tastefully combining unlikely styles from different modes of labor and lifestyle.

Across the collection office-appropriate neckties, utilitarian workwear, and easy casual styles converge in everyday looks that weave between laid-back and dressed-up. The concept is epitomized in a playful look that styles a fully buttoned blue Oxford shirt with plaid boxer shorts and black loafers. Elsewhere, baggy double-knee carpenter shorts are worn with a white shirt, black necktie, and navy chore coat–seemingly combining white and blue collar elements.

However, the collection maintains casual wearability and refined cohesion in its execution. Everyday essentials are displayed in comparatively tame looks including one with an oversized grey t-shirt with baggy jeans, and another all-black look comprising an oversized tee with high-waisted pleated trousers.

The collection also focuses on more rugged workwear garments with a gray boiler suit set with various pockets and diagonal zippers, joined by other workwear silhouettes like chore coats, and denim overalls.

DIGAWEL's SS25 collection is expected to be released in mid-January via the brand's web store and Tokyo boutique.
