Former BBC Radio 2 host's four-word defence of Mark Dolan after GB News sacking
BBC Radio legend Tony Blackburn has defended the recently fired GB News presenter Mark Dolan after he was removed from the broadcaster earlier this month.
Last week, GB News underwent a major presenting shake-up, with changes made to presenters Mark, Isabel Webster, and Jacob Rees-Mogg shows.
The unexpected announcement shocked fans, as the 50-year-old has been presenting Mark Dolan Tonight for the past three years.
His departure was also a seemingly rocky exit as Mark took to X and abruptly revealed that he had presented his final show.
He wrote: “STATEMENT GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course.”

The 81-year-old penned: “Sorry to see that Mark Dolan has left @GBNEWS I thought he was good fun to watch.
“He was against Strictly Come Dancing which is not a good spot to have, now that it’s over they should rethink things as is style was unique and fun.”
In the wake of his departure, the ex-GB News star announced the launch of his own show on YouTube where he promised to speak out in a tell-all video.

In the lengthy clip, the TV host host admitted: "Let me tell you that leaving GB News was not my choice. I was fired. It took minutes. But let me tell you, they did it nicely.”
Mark went on to say that thousands of people expressed their anger at what had happened as he thanked them for their support.
He then went on to offer a surprising thanks to his former team: “I want to thank GB News' bold and visionary management and I want to thank my brilliant production team on Mark Dolan Tonight for the extraordinary amount of hard work that they put into every programme.
"Let me tell you I have made friends for life - cherished friendships. And that is a wonderful thing.
