What Ruben Amorim has told Marcus Rashford as Man Utd turn blind eye to 'toxic' situation

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is not feeling any pressure from the club's hierarchy to reintegrate Marcus Rashford into his team, according to reports. Rashford, who has publicly expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford, has been in hot water with his new boss due to his training performances in recent weeks.

Amorim excluded the United No. 10 from his squad in the 2-1 derby victory at Manchester City earlier this month.

A day later, Rashford admitted that he was ready for a new challenge and confirmed he didn't expect to spend the rest of his career in Manchester.

Since that bombshell interview, the 27-year-old forward was also absent from last week's loss at Tottenham and Sunday's shocking home defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

According to the Daily Star, United's top brass, including co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and chief executive Omar Barrada, have steered clear of interfering in Amorim's team selection.

It's believed that the Portuguese tactician has been left to handle the Rashford situation how he sees fit at the start of what the club will hope is a long-term rebuild.

The report adds that Amorim has informed Rashford that he won't be brought back into the squad until his attitude improves.

It's claimed that the situation threatens to become toxic as United grapple with what to do with one of their most high-profile and highest-paid stars.

Amorim wouldn't want to retain a player who isn't contributing to the squad, and the January transfer window is right around the corner.

One possibility could be to loan Rashford out in the upcoming transfer window, potentially with an obligation to buy next summer, but United would likely need to cover his £350,000-a-week wage.

A permanent move at the end of the season is more likely but might still be challenging, given the England international's hefty contract.

United will reportedly set his asking price at around £40m, a staggering drop from his value just two years ago after scoring 30 goals in a single season.

Rashford has netted just seven times in 24 appearances this term, having totalled eight last campaign.

His preference is reportedly to make a move to Europe rather than Saudi Arabia or the United States in an attempt to fight his way into Thomas Tuchel's England plans.
