Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish has expressed his desire to take on the I'm A Celebrity jungle. However, he's steering clear of this season to avoid upsetting his boss, Pep Guardiola.

With scant football presence in the jungle - Colleen Rooney being the nearest thing to a Premier League star - Grealish's interest spells a potential coup for I'm a Celeb producers. Despite his own admission of possibly not excelling at jungle tasks, Grealish is open to the idea.

In a video posted by host Declan Donnelly on Twitter, he queried: "Jack Grealish. What do you about Jack Grealish for next year?" Ant McPartlin responded positively, saying: "I think Jack Grealish will be very, very good."

Dec then showed a clip of Grealish himself stating: "Hey guys, Jack here. I've heard that a few of you guys want to see me in the jungle. I can't lie, it is something that I'd absolutely love to do. It's a show that I've watched, you know, for years since I was little. And, yeah, a show that I love.

"I don't know how I'd get on in there. I don't think I'd be the best, to be honest, but yeah I'd give it a go. Obviously not this year. I don't think Pep (Guardiola) would be too happy if I ended up in there this year. But, you know, never say never could happen one day."

Ant could hardly contain his excitement and exclaimed: "Oh my god. Jack Grealish! We love you Jack," before he and Dec launched into a chant of: "We love you Grealish, we do."

The show has seen its fair share of footballers hanging up their boots for jungle gear. Last year, former Lioness Jill Scott triumphed, while Harry Redknapp has also been named King of the Jungle.

Other ex-Premier League stars like Jimmy Bullard, Kieron Dyer, Wayne Bridge, Dennis Wise, Ian Wright, and David Ginola have graced the campsite. Arsenal legend Ian Wright nudged Manchester United great Roy Keane towards the Aussie wilderness on ITV, suggesting: "I think he [Keane] should go in.

"My mates James Haskell and Nadine Coyle did it, and it was the best thing that happened to them. Apart from that, not much kip and not much grub is all I can recollect."

But Keane's response was typically terse: "Not for me."
