Chinese Culture Festival tickets on sale from Friday

Tickets for Hong Kong's first Chinese Culture Festival will go on sale on Friday, officials have announced. The festival, which will run from June to September, is aimed at enhancing people's appreciation of Chinese culture and cultivating national identity. At a programme parade on Thursday, Culture, Sports and Tourism Secretary Kevin Yeung said the festival will include film screenings, opera, and music and dance performances. "We have advantages as a cultural melting pot of East and West and extensive international connections," Yeung said. "This can promote cultural exchanges, and we aim to showcase the unique charm of Chinese culture and captivating features of Hong Kong culture to arts and culture lovers and tourists from all around the world. This also drives business for the tourism and related sectors." Yeung said about 2,000 people will perform or participate in the production of the festival, which is being organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's newly established Chinese Culture Promotion Office.
