Dubai Airports and airlines issue passenger advisories as adverse weather conditions affect air travel

With the UAE having experienced adverse conditions due to inclement weather, with some of the heaviest rainfall the country has seen in years yesterday, flight operations at Dubai International airport were disrupted, with a number of measures taken to protect traveller safety, including cancellations, delays, and flight diversions.

Due to the weather advisory issued by The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), a number of airlines, such as flydubai, have been working carefully to minimise further disruption, and keep passengers up-to-date.

“The adverse weather conditions that have been forecasted in the UAE over the next few days may impact our flight schedule at Dubai International (DXB). We are working hard to minimise any disruption to our passengers’ travel schedules and are coordinating with all parties at the airport. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely and we advise our passengers to allow extra time for their journey to the airport and to check the status of their flight on flydubai.com,” said a flydubai spokesperson.

Passengers have been advised to update their contact details online, check-in online if possible, take note of baggage allowances through online booking management systems, and arrive at the airport at least four hours before their flight departs if it is still on track or once it is scheduled, while regularly checking flight information for any updates.
