Keeping coy, the dancer replied: “You know what, that will be the dream. I’m working really really hard and getting my body fully back with rehab and physio.

“I’ve got a brilliant team, so fingers crossed I’ll be back on your screens dancing later this year.” Getting excited, Jon questioned if fans can expect to see her as soon as this upcoming autumn.

Amy continued: “Hopefully! fingers crossed. If Strictly will have me back, I’ll be back.” Although the dancing star made cameo appearances throughout the last series, she didn’t compete with a celebrity partner due to her diagnosis.

She continued: “When I got back, I went to the hospital, to my GP and I was told unfortunately it is grade three cancer and I needed a mastectomy and chemotherapy.

“I was actually at the oncology unit yesterday having my monthly injection, which I’ll need for five years.

“But, I’m just so grateful to get another shot at life, I never thought in a million years at 32 I’d be diagnosed with breast cancer.

“There I was, living my life to the full on Strictly Come Dancing, just got married, cancer doesn’t discriminate.”
