EastEnders' star chats about show's 40th anniversary
EastEnders' latest addition, Nicola Mitchell (played by Laura Doddington), has stirred the pot in Walford with her mysterious connection to Zack Hudson (James Farrar), sparking wild theories about her son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).
Nicola burst onto Albert Square earlier this week when her eldest, Harry (Elijah Holloway), was apprehended by police on suspicion of murder.
She concocted a questionable alibi to clear Harry's name, but it wasn't long before an astonishing revelation emerged.
Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) was visibly agitated by Nicola's arrival, and tensions quickly escalated between the ex-lovers. Nicola's tales of jetting off to Bali to 'find herself' were exposed as fabrications, leaving her youngest, Barney, squirming.
It was revealed that Nicola's stint as a beautician ended disastrously, landing her in prison for ABH following a mishap with unlicensed lip fillers.
Teddy divulged that the unfortunate client had been hospitalised for three days, and Nicola hadn't even extended the courtesy of a refund.
The drama intensified on Wednesday (November 13), when Nicola unexpectedly bumped into Zack outside The Queen Vic, reports MyLondon.
"I almost had a heart attack when I saw you at that bar," she exclaimed upon recognising him, hinting at a previous brief encounter.
"Some men are unforgettable, even after all these years," she added flirtatiously. "You still a PT? My core ain't been the same since you had a go at it."
After they exchanged a bit of cheeky banter, Nicola urged Zack to pretend they were strangers, considering her husband and kids were not too far off.
The scene sparked rumours about a previous liaison outside marriage between Nicola and Teddy, with fans beginning to ponder if Zack might be Barney's biological father.
On social media platform X, one viewer speculated, "What if Barney is Zack's son? #EASTENDERS."
Another remarked with curiosity, "Omg is Zack Barney's Dad? The resemblance is there #EastEnders."
Contributing their thoughts, one fan said, "There wasn't a need to shoehorn Zack into her past unless this is a possibility."
Agreeing with this theory, another declared, "Zack will be Barney's dad."
