EastEnders' star chats about show's 40th anniversary
Wedding bells are set to chime in EastEnders as Elaine Peacock (played by Harriet Thorpe) and her beau George Knight (Colin Salmon) gear up for their big day. But whispers of an ex-partner's return are stirring as the nuptials approach.
In Thursday's visit to Albert Square (November 14), The Queen Vic buzzed with wedding preparations, with Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) spearheading the hen party plans.
Elaine, meanwhile, nudged George to consider his son Junior (Micah Balfour) for the role of best man.
George, plagued by doubts about Junior's response, hesitated and instead turned to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to step in as best man.
However, Phil soon picked up on George's concealed wish for Junior to take up the mantle.
As George grappled with his best man dilemma, Johnny and Anna (Molly Rainford) were busy organising Elaine's hen night entertainment.
"Elaine has been moaning about the entertainment again," Anna remarked to Johnny.
"She loves a drag queen," he quipped, passing her a note. "Drew Peacock", Anna read out, prompting Johnny to chuckle: "It will be good for her to know she's not the only drag queen called Peacock in town!", reports the Manchester Evening News.
The enigmatic Drew Peacock has sparked fan theories on EastEnders forums, with some suggesting this drag queen could be none other than Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) real father, just as her mother Elaine is poised to walk down the aisle once more.
X was abuzz with speculation from an intrigued viewer who posed: "So this drag queen is called drew peacock and elaine is called elaine peacock... what's actually gone on for her to freak out next week then? #EastEnders."
Another viewer couldn't resist sharing their surprise: "Ooooer, that was a risque drag queen name.... Drew Peacock! #EastEnders."
Delving deeper, a third speculated: "So the drag queen for George and Elaine's hen do is called Drew Peacock and Elaine is Elaine Peacock.....
"We know Elaine freaks out over the drag queen next week and Linda learns a secret about her parents....what's going on?? #EastEnders."
"Imagine if Drew was Linda's dad's name or do we know her dad's name?" mused another fan, prompting further theory crafting.
Meanwhile, one observant viewer exclaimed: "Drag queen. Drew Peacock!?! Why aren't they asking Felix?? #Eastenders."
