As the series edges closer to a landmark 500 episodes, ITV has confirmed a new twist in The Chase’s running order.

A special episode is scheduled to be recorded at the famed Elstree Studios this Tuesday, and will be broadcast later in the winter.

The Chase: The Bloopers will feature all six chasers, as well as comedic insights from the show’s host Bradley Walsh.

In an added treat for fans of the show, free tickets to become part of the studio audience have been made available online, with lucky applicants to be selected from a random draw.

In addition to the outtakes special, The Chase will return to the small screen over the festive period, after a Christmas hiatus in 2023.

Two new episodes, which will be recorded in November, will see four celebrities take on the chasers in a bid to win thousands of pounds in donations for their chosen charities.

The show, which premiered in 2009, is fronted by Bradley Walsh and focuses around contestants answering general knowledge questions and outsmarting quiz experts, the chasers.

The series has become one of ITV’s most popular early evening broadcasts, pulling in a regular audience of three to five million viewers.

In a further boost for the game show, the spin-off series Beat The Chasers has been renewed for a sixth series.

An exact broadcast date for the bloopers episode is yet to be confirmed.

The next episode of The Chase will air on ITV1 tonight from 5pm.
