Coronation Street has seen more than just acting talent shared among its stars, with several real-life family members gracing the cobbles over the years. The ITV soap has featured siblings, cousins, and even parent-child duos sharing screen time.

Cousins Brooke Vincent and Ellie Leach have made their mark on the show, while the late Rick Neelan (played by Greg Wood) was actually the real-life brother of footballer Tommy Orpington (portrayed by Matt Milburn). However, they're not the only ones with family connections both on and off the set.

A mother and son duo that appeared on the soap years ago recently surprised fans.

Sue Jenkins, who joined the Coronation Street cast as Gloria Todd in 1985, became a familiar face as a barmaid at the iconic Rovers Return. She also worked alongside Julie Goodyear, who famously played landlady Bet Lynch.

Beyond her role on Corrie, Sue played Jackie Corkhill in Brookside for nine years from 1992 to 2001 and had a brief stint on Emmerdale in 2008 as Bonnie Drinkwater. But it's her very famous son who also made an appearance on Corrie that might surprise you, reports the Daily Star.

In reality, Sue's son is Richard Fleeshman, who portrayed Craig Harris.

Richard joined the Coronation Street cast in 2002 as part of the Harris family, who were hiding under the witness protection programme. His character Craig had some significant moments.

He underwent a transformation into a goth, much to the chagrin of his father, and became the first love interest of Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan. The plot thickened when Katy Harris, Craig's sister, killed their father in a heated dispute over her secret relationship with Martin Platt.

Their mother, Angela Harris, tried to shield Katy, but overwhelmed by remorse, Katy ended her own life. In the wake of this tragedy, Craig planned to escape to Berlin with Rosie but ultimately left alone, saying goodbye to the cobbles for good in 2006.

The disclosure of Sue and Richard's stint on Corrie left fans on social media shocked. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer tweeted about Sue's time on Corrie.

Another fan replied: "That's Richard Fleishman mum!! " Another user remarked: "Wow, all this time watching and I never knew that I could see her son in that photo now."

A third chimed in, stating: "Her real-life son played Craig Harris, son of Psycho Tommy!".
