Former Brazil star Hulk marries his ex-wife's niece in lavish church ceremony

Former Brazil striker Hulk and his ex-wife’s niece Camila Angelo have tied the knot in a religious wedding ceremony five years after they started dating. Hulk, who won 49 caps for his country, was previously married to Angelo’s auntie Iran for 12 years before the couple separated in 2019.

Hulk has three children - sons Ian and Tiago, and daughter Alice - with his first wife.

His second wife gave birth to his fourth child Zaya in April 2022, before the couple had another daughter, Aisha, in June 2024.

Hulk is one of the most iconic attackers of the last 20 years thanks to his huge stature and ferocious shots.

During his playing days he spent four years with Porto, bagging 77 goals in 169 appearances for the team. He helped the club win the Europa League in 2011 and three Portuguese Cups before joining Zenit St Petersburg in 2012.

The 38-year-old currently plays for Atletico Mineiro in his homeland and started five games for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

Hulk and Angelo previously tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2020 when the veteran was plying his trade for Shanghai Port in China. And they married in a service on Friday that took place in Hulk's home town of Campina Grande.

Hulk wore a maroon-coloured suit during the ceremony, with his wife donning a white wedding dress. And the player posted an image of the couple holding hands and beaming from ear to ear in a post on Instagram.

“Before God and the promises of our love, we unite in one heart, beginning our eternity together, life! I love you,” he wrote on the social media platform.

Hulk’s relationship with Angelo inevitably didn’t go down well with his ex-wife. And, as per The Mirror, Auntie Iran hissed after the couple first got together: “Lies and disloyalties are like knives. They cut our flesh, make us bleed, dry up, die a little inside.

“But for those that have God in their lives, this dying means rebirth. I am reborn with each disappointment and each lie that is unmasked because Jesus made me strong.

“I gave everything to this girl (Camila) since she came into the world. I sacrificed my dreams so many times to make her dreams come true. And here I'm not just talking about material goods, because these are easy to give when you have money, but love, affection, attention, respect, everything.

“She knew my weaknesses, insecurities, pain, fears and had my unconditional love. She managed my life, and for me everything that she said was good, it was correct, it was ethical. She was perfect in everything and I gave her the direction of my life.”
