Tiger Woods and son Charlie denied PNC Championship glory despite hole in one
Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, made a spectacular hole-in-one during the final round of the PNC Championship but ultimately the duo fell short of the title after a play-off.
Bernhard Langer and his son Jason clinched the title with an eagle putt on the first extra hole, leaving both teams tied at 28-under par.
The young Woods' remarkable ace occurred on the fourth hole at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. "It was awesome, I didn’t think it went in," Charlie excitedly told the Golf Channel, having sunk the ball with a seven iron from 175 yards.
Post-round, the elated teenager added: "No-one made a mistake today so that was the most fun I’ve ever had, and on top of that made an ace. I don’t think I can top that."

On the hole previous he made his first eagle and now he just made his first hole-in-one.

"It was a magical two-hole stretch – I’m just so happy for him and the enjoyment we had as a family. It was a lot of fun."
Despite this being Tiger's first appearance since his back surgery in September, he humbly downplayed his performance: "I’m nowhere near competitive shape," the 48-year-old admitted.
"I’m a great scramble partner. We made a great team this week and that’s the whole joy of it."
In a delightful twist, shortly after Charlie's ace, Paddy Harrington – son of three-time major champion Padraig Harrington – also achieved a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.
