BBC Antiques Road Trip expert issues stern warning after loss leaves co-star 'speechless'
Antiques Road Trip viewers saw tensions at an all-time high on Wednesday afternoon as Ishy Khan and Catherine Southon went head-to-head. Scouring Gloucestershire, the duo were on the hunt for hidden treasures, which would make them the most money at auction.
During the episode, BBC viewers saw the antique experts obtain the likes of a vintage clock, silver plated lobster picks and gold hat pin. After the duo had spent their £200 budget, it was time to find out how much profit, if any, they had made.
One of the items which was up for auction was Catherine's purchase. A set of silver-plated lobster picks, which came in a blue-lined box. As she brought the antique for a total of £35, she was hoping to make some profit.
Sadly, when it came to bidding, offers didn't start coming in as quickly as the BBC star would've liked. Kicking things off at £10, the bid went up to £15 and stopped.
When the auctioneer ended the bids, Catherine said: "I'm speechless! £15 for a set of lobster pickers?!" However, her co-star didn't have much luck with his next item either.

Opting for a quirky set of silver duck rings, Ishy paid a total of £40 for the pair. The bidding started at £10 and like Catherine's item, didn't gain much traction.
In the end, they sold for £15 as the auctioneer confessed: "I thought they'd do a little bit more than that." With a loss of £25, the BBC expert admitted: "That's not good."
Realising the link between the two losses, Ishy told his co-star: "So ducks and lobsters, just stay away from water!" Laughing, Catherine agreed they should steer clear of water-related items.
However, Ishy's luck quickly turned around with his final item at auction. Paying £70 for a Cupid intaglio seal, the expert was hopeful to make some return, after he managed to get the original price down.

The auctioneer got to £170 as Catherine replied: "£100 profit!" When the gavel was raised, the BBC stars gave each other a huge hug as she told Ishy the profit was well deserved.
Even the voice-over was blown away as he said: "Wow, the bidders were head-over-heels for that. A great profit." Although Catherine didn't fail to realise many of her items didn't do quite as well.
She told her co-star: "Ishy, you have wiped the floor with me today!"
