ITV I'm A Celebrity's Danny Jones issues two-word warning to campmate in tense scenes

I'm A Celeb: Richard Coles takes on trial in preview

The jungle has been hit by a whirlwind since Reverend Richard Coles joined the ranks of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, diving straight into an eating challenge that made for eye-watering television.

Greeted with a disgustingly challenging eating task, the ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestant had to endure a vile drink in full view of his new buddies. It wasn't long before fellow campmate Danny Jones couldn't help but shout out a stark caution.

Dec Donnelly, one of the show's hosts, introduced the revolting menu item by saying, "This is... 'cammovile tea'... which is fermented herring."

At this harrowing description, Rev Richard couldn't contain a dejected moan. When Dec pushed him to "If you could polish off that whole cup", Rev Richard ensured he had to down every last drop before jokingly remarking, "More tea, vicar," reports the Mirror.

Maura Higgins could barely hide her horror as she witnessed Rev Richard tackling the noxious brew, gasping, "Oh, my god."

Despite initially seeming to cope well, it soon became apparent the trial was affecting him; the taste took its toll, and Rev Richard struggled desperately not to bring the drink back up.

Pop sensation Danny looked on with his fellow campmates as Richard faced the grim challenge, shouting words of encouragement: "Don't stop". He continued to motivate him, urging, "Keep going, don't stop."

Nonetheless, it was a daunting task for Richard who appeared to almost gag while holding the concoction in his mouth. When he coughed, Ant swiftly used his cue card as a fan, exclaiming, "I've just got a whiff of that."

From off-screen, one celebrity lamented, "That's really bad." Ant couldn't resist commentating, while pinching his nose, "You won't catch me drinking that."

The scene concluded with the Reverend barely containing his nausea, leaving viewers hanging as to whether he completed the task and secured a much-needed star for the camp's dinner.

BBC Radio 1's DJ Dean McCullough bid farewell to the main camp on Friday to join the so-called 'basic' abode, the Jungle Junkyard. Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles, the new inmates of the junkyard, would be his company indefinitely.

As Maura and Richard feign surviving on scraps with no creature comforts, they are in reality enjoying a slice of luxury living. Dean became privy to this truth on Friday night.

Though initially told by Maura and Richard to brace for the worst, he was soon instructed to press the conspicuous red button. As he did so, the camp underwent a transformation and Dean finally discovered the 'true' conditions there, after his fellow campmates had sympathised with him and the other newcomers. Dean was left in disbelief, before he too was informed that he would need to maintain the charade.

*I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
