ITV I'm A Celeb's Dean McCullough clashes with Alan Halsall after rule break

I'm A Celeb: Richard Coles takes on trial in preview

After a relatively peaceful first week in the Australian jungle, viewers have seen the first major disagreement of the series as Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall clash over the campmates' latest rule violation.

Earlier, audiences saw Dean move from the main camp to the junkyard, which was more luxurious than new residents Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles led their fellow contestants to believe.

Upon joining them, the Radio 1 host was also asked to help them with their covert challenge.

If they could deceive the other campmates into thinking they were roughing it, they would secure a fast-food feast for the entire camp. The episode tonight showed them succeeding, and after indulging in a generous serving, Dean chose to take a nap.

However, camp duties still needed to be completed. Earlier in the week, camp leaders Tulisa and Coronation Street star Alan Halsall allocated the chores.

Jane went to gather firewood but announced, "I can't do it on my own," reports OK!.

Observing Dean shirking his fair share, Alan attempted to rouse him and persuade him to get to work. However, a tired and disoriented Dean was far from pleased at being disturbed and barely moved as Alan asked him: " You don't fancy it? No?"

When he received little reaction from Dean, Alan decided to accompany Jane so she wasn't alone. As Dean made his way to join Alan and Jane, he told Alan: "You can go back now."

Alan attempted to explain his actions: "I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could."

However, this incited an impassioned reply from Dean, who said, "Listen to me. If you're gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don't need to turn around to me and say 'do you not fancy it? ' OK? And then turn around and walk away."

As Alan elaborated, "I've listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that's why I went..." Dean interjected with, "Ok, I get that, but you need to give me a minute, mate."

The tension in the camp is palpable, with viewers speculating on whether it will escalate further, after noticing that Dean may have ruffled the feathers of more than one fellow contestant. The DJ has completed four trials consecutively and has already uttered the notorious line "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" twice, leading to presenters Ant and Dec expressing their dismay at his efforts.

On Dean's return to the camp after acquiring four stars in a trial, some eagle-eyed fans noticed McFly's Danny Jones seemingly withholding any form of congratulations, prompting show fans to concede that perhaps Danny had reason to feel disgruntled.

Adding to the drama, it emerged that Dean flouted the camp rules by sneaking in contraband. He had surreptitiously hidden several teabags, frequently caught on camera as he craftily tried to slip them into the kettle.

Conversely, following Melvin Odoom's successful challenge, the group were punished by losing half of the cupcakes he had won due to Dean's rule breaking.

I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
