BBC Doctors fans 'in floods of tears' as show comes to emotional end after 24 years
Doctors fans couldn't contain their emotions as the final ever episode of the BBC drama aired on Thursday (November 14).
The soap, which is set in the fictional town of Letherbridge, has followed the lives of staff and patients of a Midlands GP practice, The Mill Health Centre, for 24 years.
Back in October, the BBC announced its decision to axe the beloved medical show due to dramatic "super inflation in drama production".
During the final episode, Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) delivered a powerful speech as she fired Graham Elton (Alex Avery) for good.
All members of The Mill Health Centre embraced as Graham walked out, however, Zara delivered the heartbreaking news that the surgery can't survive without his investment.

"Thank you, all of you. You are the best team a person could have to work with," Zara tearfully told her colleagues, bringing the show to an emotional yet happy conclusion as a montage of each character appeared on screen.
Viewers were left in floods of tears as they flocked to social media to mark the end of the series.
One wrote: "Well tissues at the ready. Still don’t want to believe this is the end #doctors for being my friends for the last 24 years xxxx."
Another penned: "Truly gutted! Axing a great show, amazing actors/writers and for what? More repeats of repeats!#Doctors has helped many overcome their own issues. Knowledge given to so many. The BBC will rue the day they made this bad choice! #Doctors Thank You EVERYONE involved."
