Local stocks drop at open

Most Asian markets rose with the dollar and bitcoin on Wednesday as traders await the outcome of the knife-edge US presidential election, with bets increasing on a Donald Trump victory as early results rolled in. The Hang Seng Index fell 1.02 percent to open at 20,791. The Shanghai Composite Index opened up 0.24 percent to open at 3,395, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.16 percent higher at 11,024.
