George Tsoi takes up the role as sports commissioner

Former principal assistant secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, George Tsoi, has assumed the role of sports commissioner. He replaced former windsurfer Sam Wong who stepped down earlier this month, about a year into his three-year term. Last Friday, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung said he decided to appoint a civil servant who is familiar with public policy to take up the job of sports commissioner. Yeung added that the commissioner is expected to review the funding for elite athletes and revamp of sports bodies in a near term.
