Casemiro left himself in stitches after 'violating' Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in a recent video clip that surfaced on social media. The out-of-favour midfielder was shown up by three of his team-mates as the only one who failed to identify an image of Ten Hag during his playing days.

Casemiro is currently serving an exile from the United starting line-up after his destructive first-half performance in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at the start of September.

He captained a rotated Red Devils side in their 7-0 rout over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup but has slipped down the Premier League and Europa League pecking order.

The 32-year-old had to settle for a second-half cameo against Southampton and was an unused substitute in draws with Crystal Palace and FC Twente.

And he's done himself no favours by featuring in a clip on social media captioned 'Casemiro violating Erik ten Hag'.

function loadOvpScript(){let el=document.createElement('script');el.setAttribute('src','https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=114291&vp_content=plembed3e7arguyxmsj&cbuster=%%CACHEBUSTER%%&playerApiId=v114291');document.getElementById('ovp-primis').appendChild(el)} window.top.addEventListener('primisPlayerInit',e=>{try{if(e.detail&&e.detail.playerApiId==="v114291"){if(window.document.getElementsByClassName('jwplayer')[0]){e.detail.float('disable')}}}catch(e){}});window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',()=>{setTimeout(()=>{if(typeof flagTcfLoaded!=='undefined'&&flagTcfLoaded===!0){loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP flagTcfLoaded',new Date())}else{document.addEventListener("tcfLoaded",()=>{loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP tcfLoaded',new Date())})}},1500)})

In it, the United No. 18 is asked to name the individual in an old photo that shows Ten Hag as a Twente player sporting a head of hair.

However, Casemiro fails to do so, despite a voice behind the camera hinting: "You know him very well. He doesn't have hair anymore!"

He then produced a shocked expression upon learning that it was his manager, reacting: "Erik ten Hag? No... He has hair!"

Casemiro couldn't help but burst into laughter at the revelation before a longer clip shows Lisandro Martinez, Amad and Luke Shaw all correctly guessing it was Ten Hag.

The United boss will still view Casemiro as an important part of his plans amid a hectic season, with games starting to come thick and fast.

But the five-time Champions League winner has seemingly slipped to fourth in his pecking order after his dismal start to the campaign.

Kobbie Mainoo is one of the first names on the teamsheet in Ten Hag's midfield pivot, and Christian Eriksen is currently acting as his first-choice partner.

The Dane has recorded four consecutive starts and scored three goals in as many games as part of a surprise renaissance.

Manuel Ugarte is still adapting to his new surroundings after his £50million arrival from Paris Saint-Germain but is primed to regularly partner Mainoo once he's ready.

It leaves Casemiro in a precarious position to reclaim his spot and shadows his future at Old Trafford with uncertainty.

But he'll have opportunities to do so, with seven more League Phase games to come in the Europa League and Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Leicester City on the horizon.
