fragment design and M.League Ready Electric Mahjong Table

Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment design has joined forces with the professional Japanese mahjong coalition, M.League, to create a series of goods to help propel the tile game's popularity.

M.League tapped fragment design for the collaboration to "make mahjong more accessible to more people and establish it as a brain sport." The traditional Chinese game involves matching tiles — modeled after bamboo stricks, dragons, flowers and more — to form sets and pairs. Notably, M.League is the "first ever national team mahjong league in which top mahjong professionals compete against each other to claim supremacy."

In practice, a dual-branded electric mahjong tabel leads the collaboration, arriving in all black with an instant point storage system, an automatic deal function, a dice box simulator and the speed-maximizing AMOS REXX III system. Additionally, the collection includes mahjong tiles made from urea resin (in both navy and gray sets) that boast original designs by Fujiwara, and an entire accessory set, which features a binder, score sheet, calculator and ballpoint pen decorated with both labels' iconography.

This collection is currently available for pre-order, with prices ranging from ¥5,500 JPY to ¥1,485,000 JPY via ABEMA's webstore. Deliveries are expected to begin in January 2025. Take a look at the designs in the gallery above.
