Worried Clarkson’s Farm fans are working out what happened to Gerald Cooper after his devastating prostate cancer diagnosis in the new season of the hit Amazon Prime Video Show.

At the end of Chapter 17, Unfarming (the first in series 3), Jeremy Clarkson gets a phone call while out on his tractor - and is told that his beloved head of security Gerald Cooper has been diagnosed with cancer aged 74.

In the next episode, we hear that Gerald has prostate cancer and is "terrified".

Jeremy told viewers: “Gerald had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“I’ve been phoning round, doctors and things I know, and his odds are really good, but it’s scaring him to death.

“I know he doesn’t understand and he’s bewildered, for obvious reasons somebody says ‘sorry it’s cancer’, that’s all he heard. He’s desperately upset and terrified, poor man.”

Clarkson’s Farm 3 is shot between autumn 2022 and spring 2023. There are clues to this, such as one scene in which Jeremy Clarkson tells Charlie Ireland that he’s going to buy pigs because ‘Prime Minister Liz Truss’ has opened up ‘new pork markets’.

Then when Jeremy has the pigs in the woods a few episodes later, after a Christmas episode, he talks about how the weather is still bitingly cold and spring has not yet arrived.

As a result, some fans are worried about what happened to Gerald because Jeremy Clarkson has yet to make any public announcement about his condition since the first new Clarkson’s Farm 3 episodes released on Amazon Prime Video.

But others found evidence that Gerald had received better news since.

@greatrowlando said: “We see him regularly in a local coffee shop he looks well!”

@nukebunny said: “you can see him in Jeremy's instagram when they wrapped season 3, so he was up and about at the end of filming at least.”

As well as the eagle eyed viewers’ observations, others point out that Gerald was seen in public supporting Kaleb Cooper on his national tour this year.

Kaleb toured his ‘The World According To Kaleb’ shows in theatres around the country in February 2024, and Gerald Cooper (of no relation to Kaleb) was one of the stars of Clarkson’s Farm who was snapped at the show alongside Charlie Ireland to support his co-star.

Four more episodes of Clarkson’s Farm 3 will be released by Amazon Prime Video on Friday, May 11.
