BBC Countryfile's Adam Henson makes viewers queasy as they all issue same complaint

Countryfile: Adam Henson delivers two lambs

Countryfile viewers were left feeling queasy during Sunday's episode (May 5) of the BBC One show when battled to deliver two little lambs. The 58-year-old farmer welcomed the BBC show to Cotswold Farm Park as lambing season came to an end.

However, he spotted one distressed ewe who was trying to give birth and instantly jumped into action to save the lambs, with Ellie Harrison providing support. "What we've got her, Ellie, is a ewe that's started lambing, but she's only got a head and one leg," Adam told Ellie and he laid the ewe down on the hay.

"She looks quite far gone though, here", Ellie replied anxiously. Adam quickly assessed the ewe's progress of labour but noticed one lamb was stuck in the birth canal with one leg forward and one trapped behind.

Behind the struggling lamb was its twins, giving Adam only minutes to get the two lambs out before they died.

Taking a risk, Adam had to push the lamb back inside of the ewe to put it in the correct position for birthing. After safely tying a string around the lamb, he pushed it back as he lifted the ewe.

Ellie sat worriedly and asked Adam if there was anything she could do to help, but the farmer managed to manoeuvre the lamb into the forward position for delivery quickly. "I'm holding my breath here", Ellie said watching on as Adam delivered the first lamb which was born lifeless.

He quickly handed the first lamb for Ellie to work on. He instructed: "Rub it and clear its nose if you can", as he delivered the second lamb in very tense scenes. Adam battled to bring the lambs back to life after their traumatic birth but managed to save them both successfully.

"Oh my goodness. I can't believe you managed to do that", Ellie added after she confessed she thought the two animals were going to die. But Adam's quick thinking and heroic actions meant the two lambs were alive and reunited with their mum.
