ITV BGT judge Bruno Tonioli 'nearly had heart attack' as act leaves him gobsmacked

BGT: Bruno 'nearly has heart attack' after balancing act

Bruno Tonioli was left gasping for breath and said he "nearly passed out" after a daredevil display from an acrobatic troupe from Kazakhstan on the latest Britain's Got Talent. The fiery Italian judge had looked visibly astonished as they performed their daring feats and was heard uttering "oh my God" more than once as they attempted their daring balancing stunts

"I nearly had a heart attack. You nearly killed me!" he exclaimed when the quartet of performers, who seemed delighted by the audience's reaction to their act, finished. "This was so compelling. I nearly passed out," the expressive former dancer exclaimed as the audience laughed.

"I've never seen anything like it and I think it was brilliant," he declared. His fellow judges agreed that the act was brilliant although their reaction wasn't quite as dramatic.

Alesha Dixon told them it was absolutely exhausting. Meanwhile, Amanda Holden, who had slid down in her chair with amazement at one point during their three-minute performance, said: "It was so brilliant. But so tense and so scary and I don't think we've ever seen an ending like that before."

Simon Cowell was also complimentary, telling them: "Honestly to do this without a net and to see how easily this could go wrong and how skilful it was. It was a great audition. I'm going to say a massive yes."

The delighted troupe received a full house of "yes" and ran off the stage smiling as the audience cheered. Their nail-biting act included a moment which involved one member climbing a ladder while another member balanced on their head single-handed.

On their first attempt, the man balancing jumped off only to appear to land badly as he slipped. This left the judges begging them not to continue as they looked aghast at the accident. Undeterred the group soldiered on however and finished the dangerous stunt.

The troupe was comprised of a husband and wife and two others. Prior to performing the couple detailed how they met in ballet school and are now married with two children.

As pictures of their happy family were shown on screen they said: "They mean everything for us. We are just a normal family but not many married couples work together like we do.

"We have to trust each other 100%. Today we really want to make our children proud."
