Jeremy Clarkson reveals his farm is under attack from "18 billion slugs" that are jeopardising the production of his lager.

The car fanatic-turned-farmer owns shares in Cotswold brewery after venturing into brewing.

Following a confession last week about gaining weight due to excessive drinking causing him trouble fitting in a Lamborghini, the host is back with another issue; an invasion of his farmland by hoards of slugs targeting his barley crops.

To counter this slimy threat to his Hawkstone brew's key ingredient, he decided to "pepper the field with slug pellets".

The downside being that these chemicals inevitably kill worms - essential for enriching soil quality by processing dead roots, leaves and manure, reports the Daily Star.

Facing the dilemma, a concerned Clarkson, 64, saud: "If I adopt a live-and-let-live rewilding attitude and do nothing they will eat the lot. And, next year, there will be no Hawkstone lager."

Adding onto his predicament, he asked, "I therefore have to pepper the field with slug pellets which will kill them. Great. But these pellets will also kill all the worms. So what's the answer?"

This follows on from when fellow Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper admitted receiving inappropriate photos from fans. But are they men or women?

"Both... I think everyone's drinking at eight o'clock," was Kaleb's candid response.

He also shed light on tensions between him and Jeremy during filming that apparently reach levels where even the crew loses interest.

He revealed: "The viewers probably only see about 30% of the arguments. The cameras stop, and then all of a sudden we're still arguing. Even the camera crew now just walk off."
