Britain's Got Talent act starts 'walking off' stage after 'bottling' previous audition

BGT: Alesha stops comedian from leaving the stage early

A comedian who was too nervous to audition last year ended up almost walking off stage following his performance on Saturday night. Darren Watson, a 47-year-old plumber tried to audition last year, but when he got backstage with Ant and Dec, he realised he couldn't go through with his performance.

However, the star came back again this year determined to make it on stage to wow the judges. Despite his act getting off to a rocky start, the audience and Simon Cowell soon warmed up to Darren and he got them laughing.

Although, after finishing his act, he started to walk off stage before the judges could deliver their verdict. Alesha Dixon was forced to shout after him so he could return on stage. Before starting his act, Ant and Dec told Darren they recognised him from the 2023 series where he admittedly "bottled it". He said: "I made it all the wait to Ant and Dec but nerves got the better of me."

After his performance, Darren told the judges and the audience: "That's my set everybody, thank you." As the audience cheered, he said: "Thanks for your time everybody," before beginning to walk off stage.

"No," Alesha shouted holding up her hands. "No, don't go."
