BBC fans all said the same thing as series two of the drama came to an end. Humphrey Goodman's () and Martha Lloyd's () big day finally arrived, although, the couple didn't end up getting married.

And while some fans were disgruntled that they didn't see the couple say "I do", others believe the pair could be leaving Shipton Abbott to get wed back in Saint Marie.

Taking to X to comment on the series finale, one fan theorised: "I will be furious if none of the Death in Paradise team come over for the wedding. #BeyondParadise."

"Are they going to run away and have the wedding on St Marie........maybe we'll see the new detective? #beyondparadise," another suggested. While a third added: "Cancel everything, on the day damn that's going to be expensive so they are not getting married...so get to St Marie, and get the wedding on the beach, with Dwayne, Catherine and the other Selwyn." (sic)

However, one fan complained: "I wanted to see the wedding, the speeches, first dance, and vows, I feel betrayed, beyond betrayed #BeyondParadise."

Other fans couldn't believe the series had ended already, with one commenting: "Can't believe this is the last episode, needs a longer run #BeyondParadise."

It is unclear about what the future holds for Martha and Humphrey or whether they will ever tie the knot, but fans can look forward to another series of Beyond Paradise.

"We can't wait to get back to Shipton Abbott for another Christmas special and series to continue the story and learn more about our characters and the town they live in.

"I can promise that we'll be making the viewers laugh, cry, laugh a bit more and then baffling them with a series of ingenious puzzles. There will also be a duck."

Beyond Paradise returns to BBC One in 2025.
