'Positive business outlook for Golden Week holiday'

Liberal Party leader Tommy Cheung on Saturday expressed a positive outlook for local businesses for the upcoming Labour Day "Golden Week" holiday on the mainland. Cheung, who represents the catering sector, said he expects an increase in the number of mainland tourists staying overnight. He added that restaurants have increased their staff in anticipation of a surge in number of visitors. "Because it's a five-day holiday for China, so I'm expecting more people to come. In fact, not just for the first of May, even second, third, fourth and fifth. I'm expecting more people coming in than going out. We are prepared for the week," he said. Meanwhile, Cheung expects a forthcoming ban on the sale and use of disposable plastic tableware to be implemented smoothly. He said many restaurants had already understood the new regulations and were making the necessary preparations to adapt to the changes.
