The Chase fans were on the look out for new episodes but were sorely disappointed today as the ITV show seemingly offered nothing new. "These are repeats. #TheChase," one exasperated fan exclaimed.

A second follower groaned: "Governess again? Wasn't she on on Monday?" A third pointed out: "They're still [screening] 'new' episodes of The Chase Celebrity Special and Tipping Point: Lucky Stars on the shelf that were filmed in 2022."

Another wrote: "One of the great poor episodes tonight #TheChase."

Others suggested they would be switching off as a fourth remarked: "Any point in watching the rest of #thechase?"

Another said: "Not much point watching the final chase. That was embarrassing. #TheChase." While a sixth added: "The final chase is sending me to sleep… #TheChase."

As the show kicked off, host Bradley Walsh joked about a contestant's choice of outfit despite him being a fashion guru - but not everyone was impressed.

"I like the chinos, is that why you're hiding your hands there?" Bradley teased, before adding: "You're a teacher of fashion!" The contestant went on to reveal that he produced his own clothes, while tutoring a group of 16-19 year-olds at college.

Bradley went on to tell him: "It's a wonderful thing to do!" Later, as the interrogation began, he correctly answered "Alan Sugar" to one of the questions, but one tweeter thought the host had delivered a patronising response.

He responded: "Alan Sugar”, while Bradley shot back: "It’s Lord Sugar but I’ll give you that!”, prompting the bemused social media user to exclaim: "Er…yeah COS IT’S RIGHT!!"

Meanwhile, another contestant was brutally mocked by fans for seemingly not getting a single question correct.

The embarrassing moment saw one lament: "I suppose they have to try and balance the team out to make it reasonably fair on The Chaser, but it's a bit painful to watch when they've put someone on who seems to be there just as cannon fodder."

"Wait, did she not get a single question right?" another concerned viewer chimed in.

Another ambitious contestant reported her plans to visit all of the castles and stately homes in Britain, already having ticked a mammoth 50 off her list.

Over in France, she's been even busier, having visited 103 of its "prettiest historic villages" out of a possible 159.

However, Reunion in the Indian Ocean is one French-owned territory she says she won't be travelling towards, as she "can't get the motor home there".
