Graham Norton's Virgin Radio show successor has been unveiled following his surprise departure. The beloved broadcaster recently bid farewell to the station after a 13-year tenure, citing a desire to reclaim his weekends.

Norton was a staple for many on Saturday mornings, with his show drawing in millions of listeners each week. However, last month he informed his audience that he would be taking "one last gallop around the paddock" before retiring his radio mic.

Virgin Radio has now confirmed a lineup of stars set to step into the weekend slot, including a Strictly Come Dancing favourite and two nostalgic figures from many childhoods. Additionally, Leigh Francis, better known as Keith Lemon from Celebrity Juice, is slated to join the radio lineup.

Starting April 27, Angela Scanlon, who recently graced the Strictly dance floor, will host her own show every Saturday and Sunday morning from 7am to 10am.

The 40 year old presenter expressed her excitement about the new role, saying: "I know how many of you have dreamt about waking up to my husky dulcet tones, well dreams come true gang!! I'll be getting up with you every weekend on Virgin Radio and I am inappropriately excited. Stick the kettle on!"

Meanwhile, Leigh, 50, is set to bring his unique flair to Virgin Radio every Saturday from 10am to 1pm, sharing the slot with Tom Allen. Leigh enthused: "I'm super excited to start my new Virgin Radio Show fresh off the back of my first ever tour! Remember Saturday mornings when telly was good? Hopefully, I can create that vibe but on the radio. Can't believe I just said vibe."

Tom chimed in with equal enthusiasm: "I'm over the moon to be starting off Sundays in style with the perfect mix of great songs, chat and a bit of a laugh. See you there!" Meanwhile, Dick and Dom, the cherished children's TV icons, are set to captivate listeners for six hours across the weekend.

The beloved comedy pair will take to the airwaves from 1pm to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, barely containing their excitement as they announced: "WE'RE BACK ON THE WEEKENDS! As genuine long-term listeners and lovers of Virgin Radio we're over the moon to be joining the team. We both started our journeys in local radio so it's great to be back behind the mic. Nice to have upgraded from a bungalow to studios at the top of the tower!!!"

But the shake-up doesn't stop there; Olivia Jones steps up as the fresh face for the weekend late show, while Graeme Smith grabs the baton for the weekend lineup.

Sally Bailey, a familiar voice from Galaxy, makes her comeback alongside Tony Shepherd.

And adding to the stellar roster, Harpz Kaur, formerly of BBC Asian Network fame, takes over the 1am to 4am slots on Saturdays and Sundays.
