However, after only a few weeks on air, they will be taking a break. Cat announced their upcoming holiday during Thursday's episode, which aligns with the schedule of previous hosts Holly and Phillip. She simply told viewers she and Ben were "going on holiday".

Before Cat's announcement, viewers were already discussing the matter online. One person posted on X, previously known as Twitter: "Ben and Cat will be on for like two weeks then will go off for Easter for about three weeks....ridiculous". Another viewer suggested: "They should've started after Easter and the studio itself given a makeover".

However, it is not unusual for the permanent hosts to take a break during the school holidays as both Holly and Phillip did the same.

At the end of Thursday's instalment, Cat and Ben explained Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary would be fronting Friday's show, although, they didn't confirm who would be replacing them next week.

"The Loose Women [ladies] are next on ITV1," Ben began. "Charlene, save us."

"Help," Cat chipped in as Charlene White explained what was coming up on the show.Cat continued: "Thank you very much, ladies. On tomorrow's This Morning it is going to be a feel-good Friday with best mates Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson in the studio.

"And who will end up with egg on their face? Josie and Dermot go head to head."

Ben and Cat aren't the only ones taking a break for Easter as Susanna Reid also confirmed she would be off for two weeks on Good Morning Britain.

At the end of the show, the ITV host said: "That brings us to the end of Good Morning Britain, back tomorrow from 6. "I'm off for Easter, please don't panic, will be back in a couple of weeks!"

Richard Madeley simply replied: "Lucky you."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
