The government on Wednesday announced that the Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare (Manpower), Angelina Kwan, would take up the post of Director of Broadcasting next month. Kwan will replace Eddie Cheung to start her new role on January 6. Over the past two and a half decades, Kwan had worked in various bureaux and departments, including the Chief Executive's Office, the Security Bureau, and the Social Welfare Department. "Ms Kwan is a seasoned Administrative Officer with proven leadership and management skills. I have every confidence that she will continue to serve the community with professionalism in her new capacity," Secretary for the Civil Service, Ingrid Yeung, said in a statement. The incumbent RTHK head Eddie Cheung will become the new permanent secretary for the environment and ecology. Cheung will replace Janice Tse on January 2, when she will begin her pre-retirement leave.
