Police on Thursday said they have arrested 65 people over various alleged offences linked to a suspected prostitution ring. Officers said they believe a syndicate arranged for sex workers to come to the SAR from countries including Japan, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Chief Inspector Tang Hoi-tung said the 65 were arrested on suspicion of living on earnings of prostitution, controlling prostitution, money laundering, keeping a vice establishment and breaching conditions of stay in Hong Kong.
