Mark Charnock, famed for his portrayal of the beloved Marlon Dingle in Emmerdale, has been a staple character for over two decades. Since his arrival in the fictional village in 1996, he's been at the centre of numerous dramatic storylines, including three marriages and a distressing stroke plot, as well as a controversial storyline involving his on-screen wife Rhona Goskirk and an embryo dispute.
Marlon's marital history is quite extensive, having been married four times on the show - first to Tricia Fisher, then Donna Windsor, Laurel Thomas, and currently to Rhona. Mark was awarded Best Dramatic Performance at the 2004 British Soap Awards for his heart-wrenching performance when Marlon had to turn off the life-support for his first wife, Tricia.
Currently, his character is facing a difficult time with his daughter April Windsor, who is dealing with a shocking ordeal after becoming involved with drugs. The strain on their relationship is palpable as they navigate these challenging circumstances.
Things are set to escalate as Marlon discovers April's attempt to purchase cannabis. As expected, he confronts her, but the situation rapidly deteriorates.
Their relationship began to fracture when April uncovered the harsh reality about her mother's death, leaving her far from pleased.
Unlike his on-screen persona, actor Mark is rather private, choosing not to divulge much about his marital or family life.
Mark first graced our TV screens in 1992, playing Duane in an episode of 2point4 Children, and has since featured in shows like Watching, Cadfael and Coronation Street.

As for Mark's romantic life, he prefers to keep it under wraps. However, according to TV.com, the Bolton-born star has been wedded for several years and exchanged vows in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
The couple are believed to have a son together. While details about Mark's family life remain scant, he frequently posts updates on Instagram about his hobbies, which appear to include gardening, reading, and animals. Mark often enjoys visits from a charming Golden Labrador named Freddie, thought to be a family pet.
