GMB: Inspirational photographer Liz Hatton dies aged 17

Good Morning Britain paid homage to 17-year-old Liz Hatton during Thursday's show, announcing the tragic news of her death. The young photographer was captured in a heartwarming photo with the Princess of Wales at Windsor Castle in October.

A voiceover on the show stated: "Liz Hatton was that rarest breed of bravery and optimism. She was diagnosed with incurable cancer in January at age 17. Given as little as six months to live, the talented photographer took on a bucket list of assignments she spoke to GMB about."

ITV viewers were shown an old video of Liz from the start of the year, where she expressed: "If one thing comes through out of it, then it would've been worth it then, and a lot more than one thing has come through."

Highlighting some of Liz's accomplishments, fans discovered that the teen had managed to photograph a film premiere, a high-end fashion shoot and an investiture event, reports the Mirror.

However, during this time, the 17-year-old had the unexpected pleasure of meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales. During this event, Liz was photographed sharing a warm embrace with Kate Middleton, who later referred to Liz as an inspiration.

Following their encounter with Liz, Kate and William shared a heartfelt message on social media, writing: "A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. WandC."

Vicky Roboyna, Liz's mother, took to Twitter on Wednesday night to share the heartbreaking news of her daughter's death. In a moving tribute, she wrote:"Our incredible daughter Liz died in the early hours of this morning. She remained determined to the last.

"Even yesterday, she was still making plans. We are so very proud of the kindness, empathy and courage she has shown in the last year."

"She was not only a phenomenal photographer, she was the best human and the most wonderful daughter and big sister we could ever have asked for.

"No one could have fought harder for life than she did. There is a gaping Liz-shaped hole in our lives that I am not sure how we will ever fill."

On Good Morning Britain, viewers witnessed Liz's resilience through a featured clip wherein she professed: "What's the point in wasting what little time I have left?"

The ITV programme honoured her memory with a sombre displaya black and white photo of Lizas they concluded with a touching tribute.

A voice-over declared: "If a picture speaks a thousand words, Liz leaves behind libraries worth of inspiration."

Social media channels saw an outpouring of condolences for Liz, as an array of Twitter users praised the young girl's inspirational legacy. One user posted: "RIP, sending love and blessings to her and her loved ones. An inspirational young lady."

Echoing the sentiment, another commented: "Truly inspirational young lady My thoughts are with her family and friends." One individual expressed their condolences, saying: "Oh noooo, my thoughts and prayers to all her loved ones."

A viewer tweeted: "So sad. Rest in Peace Liz." Another person commented: "It's sad. The world is cruel and unjust, what can you say."

Meanwhile, someone else echoed the sentiment, stating: "Incredibly sad news this morning. Liz Hatton from Harrogate has passed away aged just 17. Sending love to her family and friends. Rest easy Liz."
