Yellowstone's latest episode featured a surprise appearance from a star of one of Disney's most beloved films.
The Paramount Western drama, which recently returned after a two-year hiatus, shocked fans with the death of John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner).
In the recent episode, Three Fifty-Three, John's son Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) investigate his father's death, concluding that he was murdered.
They convince the coroner, Dr Everly, to let them examine the body further, where they find evidence supporting their theory.
Dr Everly is portrayed by Vinessa Shaw, who fans may recognise as Allison Watts from Disney's Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus. Now 48, viewers may not have recognised the former child star until her name appeared in the credits.
Yellowstone fans were taken aback when one fan pointed out Shaw's casting on the show's subreddit. "Well I'll be dammed I didn't notice," one user responded.
Another joked: "Tell me you're a millennial without telling me you're a millennial, lol. Nice spot", reports the Mirror US.
"I knew I recognized her but didn't immediately place her," one viewer confessed.
"Thank you for this!!" another fan exclaimed. "I KNEW I recognized that face but couldn't put my finger on where from. Only the greatest childhood movie of all time."
"Thank you that bothered me the entire scene and I could not figure out why I knew her face," a fifth fan replied.
However, a die-hard Hocus Pocus fan recognised her instantly: "I knew it as soon as I saw her! But to be fair...we watch Hocus Pocus A LOT in October."
In her scenes, Dr Everly is sceptical about the idea that John was murdered, but Kayce convinces her by demonstrating an effective chokehold on another medical examiner to show how his father's killers could have knocked him unconscious.
Her reluctance to cooperate led some viewers to suspect she might be hiding something and could potentially be involved in John's death or had been bribed to cover up the murder.
Nevertheless, she eventually apologises for overlooking the details, to which Kayce reassures her that she was supposed to and the oversight wasn't her fault.
Shaw's stint in Yellowstone is likely over, but beyond the hit series and the Disney classic, she has appeared in Ray Donovan, CSI: NY and House.
