The One Show: Alex and Roman pay tribute to Timothy West
BBC's The One Show delivered a profoundly moving segment as they remembered the esteemed actor Timothy West in their latest episode.
Hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp were at the helm of yet another edition of the cherished BBC show. They welcomed the company of Daisy Ridley, famed for her role in Star Wars, and Emily, a spirited 21-year-old from the Children in Need challenge team.
The programme drew to its heartfelt conclusion that night with Alex and Roman presenting a touching homage to the beloved actor Timothy. Earlier on November 13, Timothy's family made the sombre announcement of his passing in a statement, revealing he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday.
In the shows final moments dedicated to West, host Alex expressed: "And just before we go, we wanted to say how saddened we are on the news that Timothy West has died at the age of 90."
Roman chimed in with reverence, saying, "Yeah, he was a brilliant actor who many will remember for his role in EastEnders. He also recently made a lovely film for us alongside his wife, Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales," reports Wales Online.
Alex continued with a tribute of her own: "So we're going to leave you now with a touching moment from that film that was all about their relationship."
The One Show then aired a poignant clip showcasing Timothy reading an endearing letter penned for his wife, Prunella, and reflecting on the journey of their love.
Timothy's illustrious legacy in acting is marked by his versatile presence on stage and in screen sensations like Ever After, Beyond Borders, EastEnders and Coronation Street among others, spanning an impressive sixty years in the industry.

"Tim was surrounded by friends and family at the end. He leaves behind his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All of us will miss him terribly."
The statement concluded with: "We would like to thank the incredible NHS staff at St George's Hospital, Tooting and at the Avery Wandsworth for their loving care during his last days. Juliet, Samuel and Joseph West."
