Outlander: Season seven part two teased in trailer

It's the end of an era for Outlander fans as the series is set to conclude after its upcoming eighth season, leaving viewers with just a final batch of episodes to savour next year following the wrap of the seventh season.

The hit Starz show, which has faithfully depicted the enthralling escapades of Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and his romance with 1940s time traveller Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) will culminate in an emotional climax after an impressive seven-season run.

The cast, led by Heughan, has recently completed filming their last scenes for the highly anticipated eighth instalment, which is expected to hit screens next year.

In a revealing interview, Heughan disclosed that he is due back on set next week for "pickups", while sharing touching insights about the significance of the decade-long journey with the show, saying, "It's been a huge part of my life."

He then wondered aloud about his next steps, "So, I don't know where I go from here."

The Scottish star even lightheartedly hinted at a possible new gig alongside Al Roker, Craig Melvin, and Dylan Dreyer on the Today show, playfully asking, "If you guys have got a spare seat...", much to the amusement of the hosts.

Craig responded humorously, "There are a couple of openings here!"

Devoted followers of Outlander have been feasting on the recent interviews, expressing their adoration for Heughan and his performance online.

A fan gushed on YouTube: "Love to see Sam Heughan in these interviews!" The praise continued with another adding, "Such a great actor, entrepreneur and always a gentleman. Can't wait to see more of his work in the future. Thank you for having him on your show!" reports the Daily Record.

Another gushed: "Best show ever, we don't want it to end! And we fans can't wait to see what comes next for this amazing man and the rest of the cast.

"Btw, Sam didn't mention his Sassenach gin, it's delicious too."

Off-screen, Heughan has been tapping into the drinks market with whisky and gin offerings through his brand Sassenach Spirits, deriving its name from the pet name Jamie uses for Claire.

Regrettably, the star doesn't have any new acting roles lined up at the moment, given that he's been busy shooting back-to-back Outlander series seven and eight.

Nevertheless, the actor saw remarkable success as Danny in Channel 4 and Starz's thriller The Couple Next Door, leading to whispers of a potential season two.

Additionally, he joined forces with Outlander co-star Graham McTavish for two instalments of Men In Kilts, where they initially delved into their Scottish ancestry and culture, following with a season two adventure in New Zealand to uncover some unexpected connections.

Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
