Clarkson's Farm returns in season three trailer from Prime Video
Clarkson’s Farm 3 has proved to be another smash hit for Amazon Prime Video, with audiences tuning in to see all of Jeremy Clarkson’s latest adventures on Diddly Squat farm with the help of partner Lisa Hogan and local farmer Kaleb Cooper. However, according to Pointless creator Richard Osman, the “real hero” of the series works behind the scenes.
On Tuesday’s The Rest is Entertainment podcast episode, which was titled The Met Gala, The Rock and Clarkson’s Return, BBC quiz show host Richard spoke to his co-presenter Marina Hyde about Clarkson’s Farm’s continued success. Their conversation comes after the first four episodes were released last week.
The eagerly-anticipated second four episodes of the series will start streaming tomorrow, so fans won’t have too long to wait.
Richard and Marina agreed that the show, which is fronted by former Top Gear host Jeremy, has found the winning formula to draw in viewers.
While some might put it down to Jeremy’s natural on-screen presence and comic timing, Richard suggested that someone behind the camera might actually be responsible for his success. He explained: “I think the real hero of Clarkson’s Farm and the real hero of that whole career is Andy Wilman, who is the producer.
“He was the producer on Top Gear and Andy Wilman is a brilliant producer, so he understands what people love to watch.
“But Clarkson’s key strength is that he understands how brilliant Andy Wilman is and he listens to him,” Richard continued.
“And he understands - which a lot of presenters don’t understand - the value of a really good producer and what that can bring you.
“And the fact that you are made to look so much better than you would ordinarily be because a producer has taken care of that programme,” he concluded.

Andy is best known for co-creating the version of Top Gear that was fronted by Jeremy between 2002 and 2015.
He also served as the executive producer of The Grand Tour before going on to work with Jeremy on Clarkson’s Farm.
Richard expressed his admiration for Andy during the podcast, lamenting that he had “never won a BAFTA”.
Clarkson’s Farm 3 is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video.
