Concept Kicks — stylized as CONCEPT(K) — founder Daniel "Mr. Bailey" Bailey has taken to Instagram to reveal his design studio's latest collaboration with adidas: a subtle reinterpretation of a silhouette from the Adizero line. Where past Mr. Bailey x adidas collaborations like 2020's "Ammonite Superstar," 2022's "OZLUCENT" and 2023's “OZMORPHIS” were sculptural and conceptual, this new sneaker prioritizes subtlety and wearability.
The collaboration features an ombre effect that combines with its greyscale color scheme to create a compelling light-to-dark ethos that reaches from the toebox to the heel. This is replicated on the midfoot's Three Stripe graphic, with each stripe slightly darker than the one in front of it. Finishing details are served up by suede overlays and a CONCEPT(K) hit on the tongue. Though the silhouette's name has yet to be revealed, its bottom half appears similar in shape to the Bad Bunny x adidas Adizero SL72.
"I always want to know the new materials out there, new construction processes, and how I keep adding," Mr. Bailey told Hypebeast in a 2021 interview. "Even the people around me are doing incredible things, so it’s this sort of leveling up and friendly competition. It’s a combination of all those kinds of things."
And the latest CONCEPT(K) x adidas release will join that friendly competition sometime in 2025 when it releases. Mr. Bailey's post teased a Paris drop, potentially at Paris Fashion Week, but stay tuned for more information as it's made available.
