Designer and creative director Eli Russel Linnetz has released the first-ever holiday collection for his eponymous ERL label, reinterpreting the brand's relaxed West Coast sensibility with a festive lens.
The collection is broken down into two general color stories: the first focuses on a primary red found in a classic Christmas-themed plaid, and the second offers a neutral-leaning alternative with washed hues of brown and tan. The centerpiece of the entire collection is arguably the plush brown California Shearling Coat (similar to a custom ERL piece worn by Pharrell) and its hooded counterpart, which comes in an egg-yolk-like yellow. The shearling coats are accompanied by matching messenger bags and mid-cut boots, also covered in long cozy fur.
On the neutral end of the spectrum, ERL offers the brown Patchwork Heavyweight Zip-Up Hoodie with plaid panels, checked long-sleeve shirts, a retro Venice graphic tee, and baggy pairs of distressed corduroy bottoms. Elsewhere, the more festive red plaid is applied to the signature ERL swirl hoodie, along with a matching plaid shirt, and a solid red pocket tee. The collection is rounded out with a solid range of plaid boxers and fuzzy ERL-branded terry socks.
In addition to outfitting Pharrell for his recent GQ piece, ERL also received a major moment in Kendrick Lamar's new GNX album art and subsequent "squabble-up" video. ERL crafted a one-of-one pin belt for Kendrick using a highly curated selection of rare, vintage pins at its Venice Beach atelier. While the special belt is not featured in the holiday collection, the wide selection including everything from socks to plush coats offers a little piece of ERL's Venice for everybody.
The ERL holiday collection is available now at the official ERL web store.
