Audemars Piguet has taken to Instagram to tease a new artist collaboration, this time with Brian Donnelly aka KAWS. While little details have been shared at the time of writing, it does seem apparent that the artist's Companion character will be a central theme of the new collaborative product.
In the short video, a silhouetted figure can be seen grabbing a craftsman's apron with the Audemars Piguet branding on it, this figure then peers through a fogged glass divider, where it's met by grey-colored KAWS Companion that presses its hands to the glass. The video ends with the official logos of each party and features a caption reading "APxKAWS. Stay tuned" — marking the official nature of the collab.
It's unknown what model will be used and if the collaboration will be limited solely to a timepiece. However, if past collaborations serve as any indicator, it is possible the two could produce an apparel capsule along with a timepiece, that will most presumably be some iteration of the Royal Oak.
For more details and updates keep an eye on the watchmaker's official channels.
