Supermodel is seeking legal advice following an apparent “emergency.”
“Truly asking … lawyers/judges/advocates/parents: A Dad, recently out of rehab is traveling alone with his 10-year-old daughter,” Upton, 32, wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, November 15. “He gets drunk and high on pills, says he has a gun on him and threatens to SHOOT the taxi driver if he does NOT drop them off on the highway at midnight to walk home.”
She continued, “Thankfully, the taxi driver refuses and would rather be shot than drop the little girl off on the highway. Is this an emergency? A crime? Would you be scared for your child?”
Upton also added a “Feedback” box to her upload, where social media users could submit their own answers.
Upton has not further addressed her message or revealed who she is referring to.
She has previously been candid about her family life. Upton shares 5-year-old daughter Genevieve, nicknamed “Vivi,” with her husband, .
“He’s always so involved,” Upton previously praised her husband’s bond with Vivi during a 2021 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “He’s the best partner. He’s just not the best dog dad. Like, he has helped almost zero with Norman, but he took almost every night shift with Vivi. So, I still am a little bitter about that.”
Verlander, 41, feels the same about Upton as a mother.
“She’s been the most amazing woman and mom,” the MLB star exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2019. “I knew that she would set a great example for our daughter, no matter what. It’s the person that she is, it’s the person who I married. I’ve always appreciated her for her strength.”
Verlander added at the time, “Just seeing her interact, all the nurturing and everything that goes on with being a mother, it’s been tremendous to watch. I know it’s not easy for her either, but it’s quite a connection that they have, and it’s really special for me to be able to witness that and be a part of it.”
Upton and Verlander have been married since 2017. Earlier this year, she gave a brief update on their home life with Vivi.
“She loves to get dressed with me. I think she has better style than Justin and I, so she picks out all her own clothes,” Upton quipped to People in April. “And that makes me so happy, because clothes are such a creative expression of yourself, and I love that she has found that even at her age. She just is becoming more and more herself and I love it.”
