Following the opening of the Jacquemus store in New York, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus opens his eponymous brand's first flagship store in London. Located in the heart of Mayfair, the store finds a home in an old art gallery and spans across four floors.
Totalling 332 square meters, the interiors are designed by OMA in collaboration with Jacquemus. Continue to take on the designer's love for the Mediterranean, the traditional Victorian architecture gets an inner update that gives customers a space to escape the hustling and bustling streets of central London. Bringing an elevated brand experience to London, the existing stone façade is met with a clean, open-plan interior that features both angular lines and softer, curving walls.
Inside the store displays an array of Jacquemus' most-coveted leather goods and accessories on recessed walls. With an entire floor dedicated to menswear and one for womenswear above, the uppermost level is a private VIP salon with a separate VIP entrance. Many design aspects give a nod to the brand's birthplace in Provence, France. Neutral tones are punctuated by Jacquemus' signature banana yellow, complementing soft furnishings throughout. Similar to the New York boutique, the London boutique also celebrates artistry and craftsmanship and features nearly 50 works of art, furniture and objects that include a pair of Josef Hoffmann armchairs, Henry Laurens' drawing of two mermaids, a small nude by Raoul Dufy and even ceramics from Astier de Villatte. The London boutique is now open on New Bond Street.
