Meredith took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, November 13, to share a video of Johnny, who died at age 31 in August, talking about his preference for smaller hockey sticks.
“Not a clue what any of this means but have watched it 45 trillion times ❤️,” she wrote alongside the clip, which was posted by a fan account on Wednesday. “Love you. Miss your voice 😘.”
Meredith has shared several tributes to the late NHL star since he and his brother, , were struck by a vehicle while biking the day before their sister was slated to get married. (Katie rescheduled the nuptials to July 2025, per her wedding website.)
“I never post this much but John deserves it. 3 years ago today I became yours forever,” Meredith wrote via Instagram in September alongside throwback photos from the pair’s 2021 wedding. “One of the best days of my life, including the night we got engaged and the days we brought our babies into the world. The day I met you I remember saying to myself, omg I’m going to marry him. And every day after that kept getting better and better. I love you forever John and I am so proud to be your wife.”
Meredith and Johnny shared daughter Noa, 2, and son Johnny Jr., 8 months. One day after Johnny’s death, Meredith called him “the absolute best dad in the world” in a touching Instagram tribute.
“So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment,” she continued. “Was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the Apple of Noa’s eye. I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much daddy.”
At a September memorial service for Johnny, Meredith revealed that she is expecting the couple’s third baby.
Several members of the Gaudreau family attended a Tuesday, November 12, court hearing for the man charged with killing Johnny and Matthew. is facing two counts of vehicular homicide as well as charges of reckless driving, possession of an open container and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.
The Columbus Dispatch reported that the Gaudreaus were represented in court by a number of family members, though it’s unclear who specifically attended. During the proceedings, the state prosecution was granted a 30-day extension to file an indictment against Higgins.
Johnny and Matthew are survived by their parents, and , and sisters Katie and . Matthew is also survived by his wife, , who is pregnant with the pair’s first baby, a boy to be named Tripp.
“Nothing will bring [Tripp’s] dad back or uncle John, but I am glad he has so many amazing people around him to remind him how amazing they are 💙,” Madeline wrote via Instagram in October alongside photos from her baby shower.
