Nepenthes London and NEEDLES have teamed up for a capsule exclusive to the Nepenthes London store. With two NEEDLES silhouettes as the starting point, the duo has presented striking new takes on The Rebuild by NEEDLES Covered Pant and the Needles Mohair Cardigan, which both land in-store early next week.
Rebuild by NEEDLES began as an outpost for the label's reconstructed vintage designs, a space for the Japanese streetwear imprint to repurpose old garments into one-of-one secondhand pieces. The distressed Rebuild by NEEDLES Covered Pant is crafted from old denim, elevated by Glen plaid wool strips down the sides.
Inspired by the iconic John Lurie – who donned a similarly designed cardigan in Jim Jarmusch’s cult classic Stranger Than Paradise film – the textured Needles Mohair Cardigan is incredibly soft (and shaggy) to the touch. Crafted fully from mohair yarn, the sweater is adorned with a diamond jacquard design.
“Rebuilding is not just remaking. It’s combining several items to create a new, one-of-a-kind piece,” said NEEDLES designer Keizo Shimizu.
The duo shows off the two-piece range in a bowling alley-set lookbook, in a campaign inspired by The Big Lebowski. Explore the lookbook above, and shop the capsule when it drops exclusively at Nepenthes London on Tuesday, November 12.
