LEGO Announces Upcoming Nintendo Game Boy Collaboration

LEGO is expanding its partnership with gaming consoles with the announcement of an upcoming collaboration with the Nintendo Game Boy. The official reveal comes after news of the LEGO PlayStation 2 reportedly set to go into production.

Bringing a sense of nostalgia to the upcoming LEGO set, the LEGO Nintendo Game Boy appears to be based on the original version of the iconic handheld gaming console. It joins a list of other video game system replicas like the ATAR and NES. Revealing a short teaser clip on X, Nintendo showcased a literal handful of bricks that seem to make up the Game Boy, including its classic purple buttons and directional pad. Nintendo of America wrote alongside the post, "Build the classic Nintendo system in LEGO® form. Coming October 2025."

This is not the first time LEGO has partnered with Nintendo on building sets. In the past, Nintendo and LEGO have linked up on Super Mario and Mario Kart based set, some even more sophisticated models from the LEGO Pirhana Plant to the 16-bit Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World as well as a giant Bowser. Last year, LEGO debuted the Nintendo Entertainment System with the Game Boy now adding to its repertoire. Look out for the set arriving in October.
