This Morning's Cat Deeley sparks backlash as fans issue the same complaint

Cat Deeley accidentally shares spoilers for Otter documentary

Cat Deeley came up against angry ITV viewers after she accidentally spilled the beans about a TV programme that many were looking forward to watching.

On Wednesday's episode, Cat was accompanied by Dermot O'Leary, who filled in for her regular co-host Ben Shephard. They welcomed Billy and Susan Mail, the stars of an enchanting new Disney+ series.

The series showcases Billy's extraordinary friendship with Molly, an orphaned otter he befriended. Some special moments were captured in a documentary on the National Geographic channel that showcased their unique bond.

In her attempts to be well-prepared for the interview, Cat watched the show with her two kids and revealed key plot points, much to the audience's annoyance.

Disgruntled fans took to X - previously known as Twitter - to express their frustration at Cat for spoiling the series, with one viewer exclaiming: "So Cat's spoilt it then #thismorning," reports the Mirror.

A different user quipped: "Things Cat didn't do last night number 1 #ThisMorning." Despite the spoilers, other viewers were so captivated by the heartwarming tale and the stunning Shetland backdrop that they considered a life-changing move, with one tweeting: "Googling 'moving to Shetland' as we speak #ThisMorning."

A second person uttered: "It looks incredibly peaceful there, i'm ever so slightly jealous." Cat let slip that she had already enjoyed the series on Disney+ before its official airing on National Geographic channel "today at 3pm".

Gushing to Dermot, Cat divulged: "My boy's were like, 'he's made her a ball pit, it's amazing'," and later in the chat spilled even more beans: "And, she also meets a boy otter called Bozzo, and also has a baby," which left the audience astounded.

Recollecting his inaugural rendezvous with Molly, Billy reminisced about spotting her munching on a crab without scampering off as he neared.

Sharing with Cat and Ben, Billy divulged: "Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to see how close I could get."

He instantly sensed something amiss when Molly didn't retreat, especially since he was aware another female otter had been recently killed nearby. Detailing the experience, the wildlife enthusiast said: "She stopped eating, looked me right in the eye, and then went back to it."

His surprise was audible as he proclaimed: "I thought 'that's not right, a wild otter should've run away at that point'," and noticed: "She was really thin and emaciated, but she wasn't unhealthy - she was just hungry."

Billy consulted a local wildlife sanctuary, which gave him the green light to feed the creature as long as he refrained from domesticating her. From then on, he began leaving salmon in a box for her, marking the start of their extraordinary bond.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1, from 10am.
