Kendrick Lamar Drops Action Packed "squabble up" Music Video

Just a few days after dropping his surprise album GNX, Kendrick Lamar has released the video for track number two, "squabble up"–a bouncy production sampling Debbie Deb where all Kendrick's dynamic inflections get their deserved airtime. The action-packed video treatment comes from Calmatic, a regular creative partner of the Compton-born rapper.

The full duration of the video occupies a mysterious green room with a lone crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. As the song progresses Kendrick raps at the center of a rotating backdrop of satiric vignettes featuring extras engaged in a variety of shenanigans–moshpits, street fights, exaggerated squad poses, and even a candle-lit vigil. Among the many stage props, one of the highlights is a book Kendrick holds up titled "How to Be More Like Kendrick for Dummies"–perhaps a subtle jab at another rapper.
